[Finally got TS up again :) ] - 1/8/2011

Well, I finally got a new TS up, and its TS3!
A while ago... quite a while now.. >.< the remote server
I was using to host teamspeak from went down, and I no longer
had my setup at my house to host it properly. I believe I was
taking classes then too? Eitherway, I remember it was on my
mind for a while, but I never managed to get to it, and before
long it had been a month or more? and I let it slip my mind...
I know some people were still using it, so sorry for it being
down for such a long time.
As of this writing its up but not really configured yet, and I
don't have time to right this moment, actually I need to finish
this little news post here too. I guess we'll just see what
happens from here.
[The future...] - 1/19/2010

This site will stay up, but its future is uncertain, I haven't
worked on this site in a while, the wiki has been broken for a
while too and I felt bad about that, when it first happened I spent
several days working on it for hours, before I had to take a break.
I never really made much progress, though I believe the database is intact.
The Dawn of Iskirra may be the next path for the former Rubies community,
I really don't know, anyway you can head over there: http://forums.iskirra.net/
[Teamspeak IP changed] - 7/18/2008

The Address you use to connect to my Teamspeak has changed.
The new address to connect to is: 75.102.27.250:8767
Teamspeak is now running on a server hosted by Art of War Central,
in chicago on a 100Mbit line to the internet. I was able to put
teamspeak onto this hosted dedicated server because I helped a
friend set some stuff up on it.
Users should expect decreased ping times, voice delays, lag,
and unexepected shutdowns.
A Big thanks goes to 'ShockFactor' of Defenders of Valor for the
space on this dedicated server which costs them like $170 a month
or so.
Also you might have noticed, I have moved the Teamspeak Display to
the front page, below the shoutbox.
[RoE-Wiki no longer marked 'beta'] - 12/22/2007

I decided that with as much content as it has now and with
the much appreciated help of the community regarding the wiki,
that it was time to remove its 'beta' status as it has developed
quite a bit thanks to many wonderful players. Thank you so much,
it really is for the community and by the community.

[Small Update and a Note] - 11/24/2007

I just realized that the server status page still said
halberd, so I changed the text to say Nemesis and fixed
the description a bit. Hope there is no weirdness as I
still need to change the name in the code, but I think
it should be fine for now. And I fixed the paypal donation
button, which I believe hasn't worked for a bit now
Also, I am sorry to those who may have sent in links,
via the submit a link thing, but it turns out it has
been being spammed hardcore and I didn't realize it
(Thanks to the way I have my mail client setup.. doh!)
And so I lost any mails that may have been sent by
real people aswell. I will get it fixed soon..
I promise(which is a big deal given my tendency to
put things off unwitingly.)
I also want to get my new theme finished and up
before the new year. Hope you all like it, I will
keep a way for you to go back to the old one of course.
[RoE-Wiki and Spammers] - 9/27/2007

Due to the continuous assault on the wiki by spam bots,
I have disabled the ability for unregistered users to
edit it. This means you must create an account and/or login
to make changes. I apologize for the inconviences and all
the spam, I have tried to remove all of it but if you find
and leftovers feel free to remove them. Thank you.
[Changes, Current and Upcoming] - 9/25/2007

I have Added a new link for a web-based IRC client pointed
at the #rubies channel on Dunny's server, gamers-united.us
In addition I have renamed the pointer to the old link to show
the server it connects to, AusIRC, so you can tell them apart
more easily.
Oh and I am working on a refit for the whole site, I have had a
refit to the underlying framework mostly completed for a while,
which is the first step towards adding more features and such.
I have also decided to redo the theme and install it with the new
code. I plan on using a modified theme I created for another rubies
related thing I am working on, it should look really nice, I just
need to get the layout ideas pinned down a bit more.
[New ISP] - 12/12/2006

I have switched to a new ISP which is faster and cheaper, this
means that you may have some trouble getting into Teamspeak for a
bit and that the IP address is different. The domain names, such as
ts.rubiessquare.com have been configured to point to the new IP but
it could take up to 24 hours or more for it to filter all over
the internet.
[Web-IRC Client] - 4/4/2006

An alternative web-based IRC client for connecting to the
Rubies IRC chat is now available on Rubies Square. This is
useful if the main website is down or you just simply don't
like the official chat sofware but don't want to or know how
to install an IRC client, this java-based client will run
directly in your web browser and has alot of features,
like being in multiple channels at once, etc. You can
access this feature by either clicking the 'RoE IRC Chat'

[Report a Server] - 1/24/2006

I'm happy to announce a couple of new features on the
server status page, the page
now stores the server status for 5 minutes and simply
reports that, to prevent excessive pings to the RoE game
servers, the old way it checked every single time the page
loaded. And most noteably, players can now report if a server
is hanging on entering world or otherwise not working right.
At the moment is shows the total reports within the past 12
hours, as well as the reports given within the past hour.
It is my hope that this will make it easier for players to know
and inform others when a server may be having problems, as well
as help those who can reset the servers.

[Submit a link, mail system failure] - 1/17/2006

*sigh* seems for a looooong looooong time.. don't know how
long though... but a looooooooooooong time.. my links
submissions haven't been getting through... I have no idea
why as the script hasn't changed since it did work.. my only
guess is bellsouth did something... I apologize to all those
who have submitted links and never been acknowledged.

Been a while since I've updated the news, I've been
distracted from working on the site, my apologies, site
development is slow, but hopefully will start to progress
some, if albeit slowly.
Addition: Just thought about adding a little more
info that popped in my head, I hope to be redoing the
site's entire framework, right now the site works ok but
is very static and if anything goes wrong it will probably
look very wierd, take linking to something that doesn't
exist, like this...
I hope to redo it using some of ideas I've gotten on code s
tructure from phpBB,
and Mambo,
hopefully it will be more dynamic, and handle errors better, as
well as have a functioning users system, hopefully with
some intergration into the forums.

Rubies Square Network - G3 - Generation 3 idea concieved.
Rubies Square G3 - the next generation of the site,
currently your looking at the first major redesigned
version, unoficially tagged G2... Generation 2
G3 is planned to be done with some php, and more usage
of css, and I'm going to make every effort to make
sure it adheres to w3 xhtml standards.

After losing my original webhost I had been hosting
off my own computer, but I finally got a real webhost ;)
I Did a little redesign of the pages and hopefully
things should work better on this new webhost.
At the time of writing this the dns change hasn't
filtered through the name servers in the world yet.
